Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to Reykjavík. On arrival at Keflavík, pick up your hire car and drive to your hotel in Reykjavík. You'll have the remainder of the day to explore the capital city on your own. You can relax at Sky Lagoon, indulging in their seven-step ritual, or visit the iconic Hallgrímskirkja church.
This morning, you'll drive to the Golden Circle where you'll meet your guide for a private tour, exploring the unique landscape for which Iceland is known. You'll walk along the tectonic plates at Þingvellir National Park, see the geothermal site of Haukadalur, home to Geysir — the namesake of the term geyser, and visit Gullfoss, the most photographed waterfall in Iceland.
This morning, you'll head to Þingvellir National Park for a chance to snorkel between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates, the only place on earth where this is possible. Afterwards, you'll visit Friðheimar tomato farm to learn about their methods of production before sitting down to a two-course meal cooked from the farm's ingredients. Finally, you'll spend the afternoon at Secret Lagoon, one of the largest hot spring lagoons in Iceland. A fantastic way to top off a quick getaway to Iceland.
Today, you'll drive back to the Keflavik airport for your return flight. Depending on the departure time, you might be able to fit in a stop at the Blue Lagoon before heading home. Your return flight will arrive the same day.
